MOA St Josephs Beer, along with all Moa beers are brewed with pure Marlborough artisan water which does not require any treatment processes such is its high quality. St. Joseph's uses a malt charge of predominantly premium Pilsener malt complimented by a small amount of Wheat malts. The hop throw utilises New Zealand grown hops from the Nelson area. Hallertau and B. Saaz varieties are used. Plain white sugar is added during the kettle boil to compliment the malt derived sugars and to ensure a sufficiently high original gravity to be within the range suitable for a Belgian Tripel.
BOUQUET
St. Josephs is a true Abbey style Tripel with strong clove and spice flavours apparent with a noticeable fruit ester profile. Smokey phenolic characters can be detected.
